A Little About The Byrd

The name is homage to my late Step Dad whose nickname for me was “The Bird.” He would be so thrilled to see this evolution. I can picture his infectious smile!

I am a self-taught abstract artist who started at the height of the pandemic. In looking for an escape from the challenges of COVID I was fortunate enough to discover my passion. 

What a journey this has been! Creating art is not only a form of expression and an outlet it has also allowed me to connect with a whole new community of art lovers.

I use acrylic flow/fluid art, resin and other mixed media to create unique original abstract art. 

To see the emotion and connection people experience when viewing my art is transcendent. Sometimes I have to pinch myself and say “I did that!.”

My art is inspired by the things I see around me; a sunset, an ancient structure, whatever my eyes see that my heart wants to translate is what becomes art to me.

My canvas is my language and my love.
